Live Near Your Work in a Sunnyvale Condo
Sunnyvale is one of several residential towns located on the south end of San Francisco Bay. Together with San Jose and its suburbs, it makes up the area popularly known as Silicon Valley. Nestled between redwood-covered mountains and the San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge, Sunnyvale's lush landscape was once covered with fruit and nut orchards. Today, the city's idyllic location offers its 148,000 residents a perfect climate, with year-round temps rarely above the low 80's, and fewer than 50 rainy days a year.
Sunnyvale’s location could not be more ideal for professionals who work in California's vibrant tech industry. The city is home of the headquarters of Yahoo, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and Network Devices. And since it borders Mountain View to the north and Cupertino to the south, the city offers short commutes to both Stanford University and Downtown San Jose. It's also only minutes away from the headquarters of Google, Netflix and many other industry-leading companies.
Considering the city’s convenient location close to major employers and the natural beauty of its surroundings, Sunnyvale condos are a popular. This trend could be the result of the city’s historic roots. As one of the earliest residential centers for tech industry, Sunnyvale was an early adopter to the condo boom, meaning there are many vintage developments in the area, which tend to offer a lower entry price per square foot than newer developments do.
Two popular examples of Sunnyvale's mid-to-late 20th century condominium developments are the Fair Oaks Place community and its next-door neighbor, Fair Oaks 90. These established communities offer residents the benefit of mature trees, and feature community pools and spacious homes. Prices in these communities are less expensive than newer communities, and many have been upgraded inside.
Sunnyvale is also home to some of the most luxurious, and most cutting edge new developments in Silicon Valley. For example, Solaire is a new community in Sunnyvale, developed by KB Home. It offers spacious, modern flats that feature attached garages, large, recessed patios, chef’s kitchens, luxurious, custom interior design elements and a state-of-the-art communications infrastructure.
The Fusion townhome community is another prime example of a development that buyers want. This community sold out quickly in 2012, because of its affordability and contemporary feel. Fusion offers residents a 12-seat community theater room, a neighborhood party kitchen, a picnic area with a fire pit, multiple playgrounds, and an epic fitness facility that even includes a putting green. And if you happen to work at AMD, the Fusion community is right next door so you won't need to get in a car.
Sunnyvale residents can stay put on the weekend, at the Farmer's market or at Las Palmas Park. San Francisco is an hour and a half away and the Pacific shores of Half Moon Bay is just over the mountains.
Whether you’re moving to the South Bay, or you’re already lucky to live here, consider Sunnyvale as the next place you call home. For more information about Sunnyvale condos or townhomes contact us.
